North Macedonia’s mountainous landscape is very different from Maryland’s flat coastal landscape. It has been fun to live in a type of environment that offers new activities such as mountain hiking, snowboarding and skiing. My goal is to hike to the top of Mount Osogovo. Sitting at nearly 8,000 feet in height, Mount Osogovo is the tallest mountain in North Macedonia!
This week, I also saw a stray cat and dog become friends. Although there are lots of stray cats and dogs in North Macedonia, the cats and dogs do not interact with each other. While walking to school on Wednesday and Thursday, I saw the same cat and dog playing and walking together. In one instance, the dog and the cat were working together to find a mouse that ran under the school fence. Their friendship was adorable to see!
