This week I traveled to Skopje, the capital city of North Macedonia. I took a taxi to get to Skopje, and the ride was about one hour long. The drive to Skopje is beautiful. We drove through small mountains, passed large vineyards and North Macedonia's famous rice farms that span for miles. During the ride, my taxi driver taught me about the history of North Macedonia. Did you know that North Macedonia is the birth place of Alexander the Great and Mother Teresa?
I have traveled very far during my journey in North Macedonia so far. I first traveled from the United States to Skopje, North Macedonia, which takes fifteen hours! To get to North Macedonia from Maryland, you must first fly to Vienna, Austria. Then, from Vienna, you fly to Skopje, North Macedonia. Next, I have to take an hour-long taxi to the town where I am staying: Kochani, North Macedonia.
I have also traveled to many places within North Macedonia since my arrival. I have traveled to the capital city, Skopje, a nearby town called, Shtip, a vineyard near Skopje called Veles and a small village called zornofski. I am also the European countries of Bulgaria, and Switzerland in December!
