Our journey together through the island of Mauritius is coming to an end. We've been to the tops of mountains and below sea level with fish. A cyclone and a water spout have threatened our sunny days, but they always brought with them the most beautiful rainbows. We've learned about many different cultures that taught us much more about our own beliefs and traditions. Was there something that fascinated you or made you want to know more? Was there an adventure you wanted to try?
I hope you've learned a lot about the world around you. One of the most fascinating things about traveling is that I always find people around the world who are just like me. Sometimes we unintentionally see an "us" and a "them" when talking about people from other countries. But when you start to meet people from other places, you start to learn that the world is not all that big after all. Kids everywhere like playing games and sometimes make faces when they eat vegetables they don't like. They also must learn how to spell and behave in school. They even argue with their brothers and sisters, too.
Another thing I’m often reminded of when traveling is that the world is precious. Everywhere I go, I learn about something else that is dying (or is already gone) because of human activity.
