Exploring Daily Life in Madrid: An Interview with Maria

I have a sister, a brother, and their partners, along with two nephews and three nieces. We’re all very close, and we like to spend a lot of time together."
How do you get around?:

"I usually drive if I’m going somewhere near my house. But when I need to go into the city, I take the bus and the metro. It takes about 25 minutes to get to the city center. For work, though, it’s a bit longer—over an hour. I take one bus and then two metros to get there."

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

"I like to wear the most comfortable clothes possible. You’ll often see me in jeans, sweaters, and jumpers. Since I get cold easily, I wear big coats, scarves, and sneakers to stay warm. I don’t follow fashion trends; if I like something and see it, I’ll buy it. But I don’t buy clothes often. When I do shop, I go for normal brands like Zara, Mango, or Pull and Bear, but I don’t shop at places like Primark."

What do you like to do in your free time?:

"In my free time, I enjoy a variety of activities. I like to stay active by swimming, strength training, and walking, and I go to the gym about three times a week. I also love going to the theater, dining at restaurants, watching movies, and playing board games like Carcassonne, "I Am a Banana," and Rummy.

Music is a big part of my life too. I play the saxophone and piano, and I enjoy singing as well. Sometimes I perform at concerts. When I want to relax, I enjoy drinking tea, lighting candles, and unwinding in a cozy atmosphere."

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

"I speak English and Spanish, and I understand a bit of French and Italian.
