Of course, there are always a few street cats lounging around the park too.
The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was the breathtaking view from the Alcázar of Segovia - a town 2 hours away from Madrid. From the castle, you can see the lush trees and rolling hills that stretch across the landscape. The trees, including tall pines and oaks, add a beautiful green contrast to the stone castle, making the scenery feel magical. The mix of history, nature, and the stunning view from the Alcázar was an unforgettable experience. It's amazing to think how these trees have stood for so many years!
This week in Madrid, I saw the leaves beginning to change colors as autumn started to settle in. The leaves here turn a little later than in the U.S. — in places like New England, the trees begin changing earlier, but in Madrid, the colors start to pop in November. The leaves are turning beautiful shades of yellow, orange, and even some deep red and purple. It’s fun to watch the trees slowly change, and the park looks extra colorful with the mix of green and these new bright colors! The weather here, with cool mornings and warm afternoons, helps the leaves turn color slowly throughout the month.
