Life in Japan

How do you get around?:

Yume's family has two cars, and her father owns three motorcycles. However, Yume, like most Japanese students, mostly uses public transportation like the bus or subway.

What types of clothing do you like to wear?:

Yume likes to keep up with the latest trends in Japan. At the momment her favorite clothes style is called きれいめコーデ (kireimo Kōde). It's simular to business casual and means "tidy attire" in English. Yume often wears a comfy top with nicer pants or skirts.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

Yume likes hanging out in her room and watching anime. She just finished Attack on Titans and is currently watching Jujutsu Kaisen. When she hangs out with friends she usally goes window shopping and exploring what fashion trend is currently out.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

Japanese is Yume's primary language and she is learning English.  こんにちは, or Konnichiwa, is how you say "hello" in Japanese.

Do you have pets?:

At the moment, Yume owns no pets, but she really wants a dog like her grandparents used to own. A surprising number of people have dogs in Japan. We even have dog treat vending machines at the park by our dorm.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

Yume was an exchange student for a week in Germany when she was 14 years old. She did a homestay and remembers the host family better than anything else from her time there.
