¡Hola! Hello! My name is Lily Williamson, and I'm a Fulbright grantee in Madrid, Spain. I was born in Seattle, Washington, one of the rainiest cities in the United States! I went to college at the University of Washington, where I studied environmental science and political science. While at university, I worked in a geoarcheological research lab and completed my senior thesis on reducing waste. I love to read, spend time outside, do crafts, and learn new things.
In Madrid, I help teach English classes to Spanish middle and high schoolers. Just like you might take a class in Spanish or French in school, my students are learning English. Madrid is the capital city of Spain, and the city is more than 1,000 years old! Madrid is famous for its delicious pastries and oranges. I chose to travel to Spain so that I can see a new part of the world and experience a new culture. Spain has so many beautiful holidays and traditions that I'm excited to share with you! I also want to improve my Spanish so that I can work and study in two languages.
¡Hasta pronto! See you soon! I'm excited to share all about Spain with you.
