I went another 275 kilometers by train from Rome to Florence; 270 km from Florence to Venice; 280 km from Venice to Milan; 315 km from Milan to Geneva; 80 km from Geneva to Chamonix; and lastly, I flew 984 km from Geneva back to Amsterdam. I arrived in the Netherlands in August. From Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Amsterdam, it's about 3,700 miles. So, including just this one long trip, I traveled over 8,000 miles in under five months!
I took a train from Milan to Geneva. I took a bus to Chamonix, France and back to Geneva. I flew from Geneva to Amsterdam, and then took a train back to my house in Zaandam, just north of Amsterdam. On Monday, I took a train and a tram to work. Altogether, I rode four different types of transportation this week.
