Welcome to a Taiwanese Elementary School

"We have to write essays and respond to short-answer questions; we also have to memorize a lot of things, like poems."

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

This question stumped Hana, Lis and Penny because when they get home from school, they do more homework. Remember that they don't get home from school until 6:00 p.m. and then have to do more homework. After that, all three girls said that they eat dinner and go to bed. On the weekends, however, they have more time to play.

Hana: "I like to play on my phone and draw."

Lis: "I like jumping rope and going to the school playground to play with friends."

Penny: "I also like jumping rope."

Who is your favorite famous person?:

Hana, Lis and Penny all said that they don't have a favorite famous person :)

What kinds of music do you listen to?:

Hana, Lis and Penny enjoy all kinds of music. In class, we listen to Indigenous artists who often sing in Mandarin Chinese.

What would you like to be when you grow up?:

Hmmm....

Hana: "Maybe an artist?"

Lis and Penny: "Work with animals at the zoo!"

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?:

Japppppaaaannnnnn!

Did you know that there is a history of Japanese occupation in Taiwan? Hana said she would like to go to Japan to see Doraemon: Gadget Cat from the Future.
