This need has also increased since the COVID pandemic, as the pandemic hindered education, and many students did not get the chance to receive the education they would have normally received. However, the Peace Corps provides some reading materials for literacy promotion, which I utilize in my school.
To an extent, yes, the need for literacy training is being met through my help and collaboration with the school and its staff. The need was recognized by the school and the community, which led to them requesting a Peace Corps Volunteer to serve at the school. Once I arrived and received the proper training, I was able to assist in my school and my community's efforts to increase literacy levels and promote literacy as a whole.
