The farthest I travel during the week is 5.15 miles away from my apartment to get to my farther away school. This school is over a bridge that connects the main island (where I live) to Zhongtun island. The bridge gets very windy, so I need to check the forcast every day to make sure it's safe enough for me to drive.
The farthest I've traveled so far is to Taipei, which is around 310 miles away! It takes about 55 minutes on a plane to get there. I will normally go to Taipei and the main island of Taiwan one or two times a month.
I get around on my motor scooter! I had to pass a written test and also a driving test to get my motor scooter license. Driving a motor scooter isn't very common in the United States, so I wasn't very good at it when I first tried. But practice makes perfect, and you always need to believe in yourself! I failed my first test attempt, but I practiced hard in between and passed my next attempt. Most everyone on Penghu has a motor scooter, and they are normally deemed more important than cars on the road. Because of this, I feel pretty safe driving around, although I definitely need to pay attention to the road and not be reckless.
