In Cuenca, you can practically have all four seasons in one day! Generally-speaking, it is cold during the nights and in the mornings; very sunny and hot until mid afternoon; and then windy and downpours of rain around 3pm. However, we are in a drought right now in Ecuador, so it hasn't rained like it normally does in several months.
I went on a hike in a town about an hour away, and saw a few alpacas! In Cuenca, I also saw lots and lots of dogs (both street dogs and pet dogs), as well as cats, horses and birds. Sometimes, neighbors will band together to care for stray dogs that live on their streets, taking turns putting out food and water.
This week I watched a gorgeous sunset from my apartment window. Cuenca has some of the most beautiful sunsets!
