Hello!

After graduating from college, I decided I wanted to spend a year teaching in another country to help me learn, grow and become a better teacher. Through the Fulbright program I was able to achieve this dream. Fulbright has many different programs, but the one I am a part of gives Americans the opportunity to go to other countries and teach English. I applied for this program and now I am living in Thailand!

Before last week, I had never been to Thailand or anywhere in Asia. When I first arrived, I was nervous because I did not know exactly what to expect and I do not speak or read Thai. I arrived in Bangkok after a 25 hour flight from Atlanta. Once I arrived, I met up with 14 other Americans who will be teaching in Thailand this year. I had never met any of them before, but we quickly became friends as we talked about what makes us excited and what makes us nervous about our upcoming year. For all of us, it is hard to be away from friends and family for so long, but we are also all so excited to be in Thailand meeting people, teaching and learning new things.

I do not know all the adventures and trials this year will have, but I can't wait to find out and share my experiences with you along the way!
