Reforesting Costa Rica, a Community in Need of Trees

The Monteverde Institute has planted well over 250,000 trees of over 140 different native tropical species, in areas and zones where the trees naturally occurred. The Institute’s work is in high demand now, as they are expanding their efforts beyond high elevations and into lower elevation areas near the borders of the Gulf of Nicoya. I have participated in helping plant well over 200 different plants in the nursery to help this effort, and it makes me proud to know I helped to make a difference. So, remember class, trees are important for every living being on this planet. Now go hug a tree, thank a tree, and maybe even in the spring, suggest planting a tree or two to your parents and help do your part for the planet and every living thing on it. This biologist will be planting a few different species of native trees when spring comes next year. Let’s save the planet together, Pura Vida class!!
