This past week, I just stayed in Madison.
A few weeks ago, I went on a class field trip to Birmingham, the state capital of Alabama. We went to the Civil Rights Institute. It was a wonderful field trip and I learned more about an important part of Alabama history. During the mid 20th century, there was a lot of separation between African Americans and white Americans. African Americans were not allowed to sit with or eat with white Americans. The Civil Rights movement wanted to end this separation.
On school mornings, I ride with my neighbor Gillian. I don't have my license yet, but once I do, I will drive my mom's current car.
Because I live in a small town, public transportation is not popular. Most people drive with cars and a few with motor cycles. In the warmer months, I bike or walk to our local library sometimes.
