The multitude of species in Alabama makes the environment very rich. Hiking is a favorite pastime among Alabamians.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

There is a lot of water in Alabama which provides for the people.

What challenges do people face living in this environment?:

Only tornados and thunder storms pose a threat to Alabamians.

How have people been adapting to this environment?:

Rain coats and tornado shelters (a space underground people's houses) are ways to remain safe. Tornado sirens blare when a tornado is approaching
