This week, I stayed in the city, but I did take a short trip to a nearby park where I saw monkeys and went to a few cafes nearby.
From Dallas, Texas, I have traveled to Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bali, Pekanbaru and Kuala Lumpur. The farthest place I’ve been so far is Bali, which is over 1,500 miles from Pekanbaru. That’s about the same distance as traveling from New York City to Dallas!
I usually have someone drive me to school in the morning. Outside of school, I mostly take motorcycle taxis. I use an app called Grab, which is like Uber. It’s really fun riding on the back of a motorbike through the busy streets!
The most interesting place I visited this week was a local market where people sell everything from fresh fruit to handmade crafts. I got to try salak, also known as snake fruit, which has a scaly-looking peel but tastes really sweet and crunchy inside. It was such a cool experience walking through the market and seeing all the different things for sale!
