Traveler Bio

Hola! Hi! My name is Marley Duerst, and I am 23 years old. I was born in Madison, Wisconsin but grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I loved growing up in the midwest because most of my family lives there. Michigan is famous for its beautiful nature, so my two siblings and I spent a lot of time outside when we were younger. Our favorite activity was playing sports, specifically soccer and basketball.

After I graduated high school, I attended college at the University of Michigan - Go Blue! I studied Spanish and International Studies with a specific concentration in culture and education. It was during college that my passion for traveling and exploring the world really grew. During my first three years of college, I went to Costa Rica for six weeks to learn Spanish, moved to San Francisco for the summer to complete an internship, and studied abroad in Spain for two months. I loved Spain so much that I decided to return the year after graduating. I lived there for nine months teaching English and coaching soccer. This year, I was lucky enough to get accepted to the Fulbright U.S Student Program in Mexico as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA). So now, I am living in Tlaxcala, Mexico, where all of you will find me on my adventure.
