How could I continue when international borders were closed indefinitely?
Stuck at home, I spent time thinking about my time abroad. I realized how lucky I was to have been able to study abroad before coronavirus turned our world upside down. Even though I was at home, I continued studying Portuguese and kept in touch with my Portuguese friends. Even when international borders are closed, I knew that being a global citizen was never more important.
Sharing my study abroad journey with you has been a very enriching experience. I have learned so much more by telling my stories abroad with you, and I hope someday I'll be able to return to Portugal. I hope you have learned some new things too! I am so excited to see how future generations continue to become citizens who care about the world. I hope you will be among these young people, in part at least because of what I shared with you!
