These steps are called "The Painted Steps" and in the morning students often gather and eat breakfast.
In the heart of Rome, there isn't a lot of wild plant life. However, on the the outskirts (as pictured here), there is quite a bit more. This road leads to one of the schools near the outside of Rome.
