Meet My Friend Kai

I dress professionally but casually for work, and I do a lot of dancing so I also wear a lot of workout clothes for training.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I dance! I'm part of a semi-professional team that does salsa dancing, so in my free time I practice a lot. I also love to cook, hang out with friends, walk around Paris and travel as much as I can.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak English, French and some Spanish. To say "hello" in French, it depends on who you are talking to. Normally, you say bonjour, but if you're talking to a friend you could also say salut (pronounced “sal-oo”) or even coucou (pronounced “koo-koo”).

Do you have pets?:

I don't have any pets, but I wish I did! Unfortunately, my apartment is too small.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I love to travel! This weekend I was in Warsaw, the capital of Poland, for a dance festival. I'll also be going to England for work at the end of the month. Two favorite countries I've visited in the past are Turkey and Greece.

What do you do for work?:

I work for a company that helps businesses and organizations act in ways that are better for the environment. I help them get their environmentally-friendly messages out.

Is there anything else you would like to say to students in the United States?:

Seek out opportunities to travel as much as you can. It is the best way to learn about the world, as well as to learn more about yourself. Also, try to learn at least one, if not two, other languages besides English.
