Meet My Friend Neil!

To great someone in Tagalog, usually you great them by saying "beautiful" and then the time of the day. So when I walk into school I tell my teacher, "Beautiful morning" in Tagalog by saying "Magandang umaga po". The po at the end of the greating is a sign of respect, and I always use it when talking to my teachers and my grandparents. If I don't, my parents will be upset!

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

Some of my friends at school are James, JP, Boy, Tony, Ricardo and Nathaniel. My sister is named Natalie, and my brothers are named Neptali and Nathan. Our parents named all of us with names that start with an "N", and we have friends whose family is named so they all rhyme with their nanay's name. For example, their mom's name is Shalla, and her daughters are named Shamel and Chanel (pronounced like the French designer).

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

At school, I study science, mathematics, MAPEH (mathematics, art, physical education, and health), English, and A.P. (Araling Panlipunan, Filipino history). My favorite class is English because Ma'am Krystal is nice, and my English is really good because of her!

What is your homework like?:

I only get a little homework, and sometimes I'll do it really fast or do it in the morning. I hate my mathematics homework because I have to solve equations. But I like English homework because I just have to write a few sentences in English to practice.
