I like wearing shorts because it's hot here. I don't like wearing my school uniform because I have to keep it clean.
I like to watch T.V. and play with my cousins. My favorite thing to do is to go to the beach [five minutes away] and swim and look for hermit crabs.
I speak Indonesian and Bajau.
I have a cat names Petir. That means "lightning" in Indonesian. My aunt in Muna [the next island over] gave him to me during Lebaran [the week around Eid, which comes at the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadhan. Lebaran is an indonesian term. This is a festive time when you visit family, not unlike Thanksgiving in the United States.]
I have been to Kendari. Mostly my dad comes here to visit me, though. I have also taken the ferry to Muna during Lebaran.
I don't work but I do help my grandmother in her cashew orchard.
It's cashew season right now. I like knocking the ripe fruit off the trees. More often I help my grandmother twist the nuts off the fruit. We can't sell the fruit,s but we get Rp. 15,000 (USD 1.06) for a kilogram of nuts.
Have you ever been on a train? What's it like? What do they look like?
