Mexican Holidays

On the week of Día de Muertos, large statues of alebrijes lined Reforma Avenue in celebration of the holiday. You can also buy small paper or plastic versions of the alebrijes.
Why does the community have this tradition?:

One of my favorite things about Mexican culture is that it is very family-focused. People of all ages are included and honored from young children to the elderly. This commemoration does not stop at death. Mexican people continue to honor and celebrate the memory of their loved ones even when they are no longer here!

Is this tradition connected to its environment? How?:

Día de Muertos is a beautiful holiday to celebrate anywhere, whether in Mexico or beyond! It is a wonderful way to remember loved ones whom we miss.
