Before the holidays begin, my friend Josh and I decided to go on a little trip to a famous national park in Israel called Caesarea. We'd heard the stories and history about this landmark, but never had a chance to explore it until now. So we decided to stop by!

Caesarea is one of the most important sites in Israel with a very unique history. It is believed that Caesarea was founded in the third century BC by the Phoenicians and served as a port city because of it's location. From my photos on this piece you can see that Caesarea is situated on the Mediterranean Sea, making it one of the most desirable sites for a city and serving as an intellectual hub and cultural capital of the Eastern Mediterranean. Ultimately, Caesarea was overtaken by the Romans in 63 BC, and has ever since been one of the greatest, most impressive and significant archaeological sites in the world, boasting beautiful beaches, a stunning floral life and an eye-catching sunset show!

Since my friend Josh and I travel by bus to get to different parts of Israel, we had to spend a lot of time walking from the bus stop along the beach in order to get into Caesarea. However, we most definitely do not regret this long journey on foot!
