Writing this last entry is, for me, very much a bittersweet experience. It feels like yesterday that I posted my first traveler update through Reach the World, and it is hard to believe we are at the final entry! For this journal entry, I am excited to share some details about a very important holiday that truly speaks to the beauty and heart of Israel: this is Independence Day, or, in Hebrew, Yom Haatzmaut.
But, before we go into that, here are some things I've done ever since returning to Israel after spending Passover break with my family in the U.S.A.!
It was my close friend Megan's birthday this past month, and to celebrate this fact, a bunch of my friends and I decided to take our talents to the kitchen. Cooking and eating has become a favorite pasttime of mine ever since coming to Israel, and we all therefore decided to tackle the challenge of making fresh pasta from scratch! My friend Megan recently visited Italy and took a pasta making class, so she was very excited to teach us all classic techniques! I've seen countless videos of chef's making pasta, but never attempted it myself. If there were two things I'd like to say about the process of pasta making, these would be that it requires both patience, and love!
