From festivals to restaurants, I have visited many places in Belgium and at these places, I've met such wonderful people. Many of them were born in Belgium, but many of them come from various other countries around the world as well, including the Congo, Cuba, Rwanda and Mexico. Each time I make a new friend, I gain a new opinion of or perspective towards the world around me. Some people have taught me to be more confident in myself and smile more, while other people have taught me how to be "more Belgian," like my host family. Before coming to Belgium, I had no idea what kind of people I would get to meet. I had no idea what people from Belgium even looked like or how friendly they could be. Each new friend I make shares their culture and beliefs with me. It's important to respect everyone's different cultures and beliefs. Meeting such different people and experiencing the varied beliefs and traditions Belgians have has made me appreciate Belgium so much more. I've included pictures of some of the various people I have met here, and I also included their response to this question I asked them: "What do you think about Belgium or Belgians?"
