A galette is different from a crepe because inside crepes, you put sweet things like sugar, jelly or Nutella!

What music did I listen to this week?:

I love to listen to French music! It helps me learn new vocabulary and stay connected with the culture. My favorite French artist is Coeur de Pirate, Pirate Heart. Her music is really good, and she has some songs in English! My favorite song is Place de la République. It's about a neighborhood in Paris I used to live in!

What activity was the most fun this week?:

This week, I was able to go to a bookstore called Shakespeare and Company with my friends. It is one of the only English language bookstores in Paris. I love going here because the people are very nice and always greet me with a big smile. Inside the bookstore, there are a lot of chairs and couches to sit on and talk or read books. They also have a cat in the store! She does not like it when people pet her. My favorite part of this bookstore is the location. It is right across the street from the Seine, a huge river that flows through the middle of Paris, and in sight of a big, beautiful church called Notre Dame de Paris (Our Lady of Paris). If you go upstairs in the bookstore, you can get a great view of both the river and the church.

What did I read this week?:

I am currently reading a book called The Great Gatsby. I have read it five times! I read it so many times because I love the story and the characters. Fun fact: the author of the book, F. Scott Fitzgerald, began writing the book here in France! He was also an American who moved to France! Maybe I will write a book before I am done in Paris!
