City Greens and Grids

Introduction:

In Taiwan, one can find a variety of landscapes to enjoy. If you are a big city kind of person, there are several cities (Taipei, Taichung) teeming with bright lights and beautiful alleyways. If you prefer more natural scenery, a trip to the mountains or less developed eastern cities would do the body well. Either way, this island has a ton to offer those who wish to have some options in their weather forecasts.

What makes this environment special or different?:

For such a seemingly small island, the many different regions of Taiwan have just as many different ecosystems. In Taipei, for example, there has not been a single day where I haven't seen even a sprinkle of rain. On the other hand, the seaside neighborhood of Anping in Tainan has been bright and sunny every visit. We experience a bunch of tropical weather climate features here, just like my home state of Florida. What makes Taiwan distinctive, though, is the way their cities are set up around it. Grand displays of natural preserves can be common in one block while several others surrounding it might have no natural trees remaining.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

Taiwan's more populated areas are known to have a very impressive infrastructure - the buildings, public structures and other human-created parts of the environment are well built.
