My background, when it comes to community service, includes, AmeriCorps, Meals on Wheels, my local food bank, Bishop Arts Theatre and now Peace Corps. It's funny how I stumbled upon Peace Corps: I mentioned in my Bio that it came about through the "What if" game I was playing with my coworker at the time. When I thought about joining the Peace Corps, I knew that this would be the ultimate service because I now would be expanding beyond my local community to being abroad. When, I found out that I would be in Timor-Leste for two years, I was so excited! Many people have never heard of Timor-Leste, which is in Southeast Asia. However, Peace Corps has given me the opportunity to bring Americans back home awareness of the Timor-Leste community. Thefore, I am so excited to bring that awareness to this 4th grade class! By the end of our journey, I hope that you share your Timor-Leste experience with family and friends.
