I went much more than once over the course of the day to have mango juice, watermelon juice, pineapple juice and even a bowl of Sri Lankan fruit salad. Best yet, they put a scoop of melted ice cream on top.
I have been listening to a lot of jazz over the last couple weeks. It helps me focus while I'm answering emails or writing Reach the World updates, and I can also jam out to eat while getting ready in the morning or walking to and from school.
Easily,my favorite activity was the business fair! Beside food stalls, my students organized a Halloween House, where they dressed up and crawled after guests like zombies. The Halloween House featured a 3-D studio and numerous carnival games. By Sri Lankan standards, I spent a day's salary just on games and food alone.
As I write this, I am in Nepal for a conference, so I took a break from fiction to read up on the history and culture of a new country. The last few weeks have been busy, so reading has become more of a privilege in recent days.
I didn't play any traditional sports this week, but I played a game of Carrom with my students at the business fair. It is like a fusion of air hockey and pool. Otherwise, I ran around Nuwara Eliya, staying active and feeling strong!
