Yes! One of the nice traditional touches was the mini-bar, which included a beautifully arranged Japanese tea set. This was a small detail, but it really added to the overall experience.
What was the service like?
The service was awesome. At one point, I had trouble finding the elevator, and a front desk staff member kindly guided me to it.
I originally had an in-room massage booked for 4 PM, but I arrived at the hotel about an hour late. I assumed I had missed my chance to get the massage, something I had been wanting for such a long time, but the staff went out of their way to reschedule my appointment. To my surprise, they arranged for my massage to happen just 15 minutes later that same evening.
Yeah, the massage was incredible. My masseuse, Noriko-san, was amazing. She would occasionally check in with me in Japanese, asking, "Is the pressure okay?" or "How does it feel?" At one point, she even asked if I worked out often. I was flattered and amused. I was proud that I could respond in Japanese, even though I’m still kind of rusty.
By the way, the massage cost 10,000 yen (about $66 USD). It was more than worth it!
Would this hotel be a good choice for a student traveling on a budget?
To be honest, this hotel is on the pricier side. One night cost me around $250 USD.
