Traveler Bio

Hello explorers! My name is Naomi and I am on a two-year adventure in the country of Senegal on the western coast of Africa. So many things here are very different from our homes in America. I eat food I've never heard of before, the clothing is all very bright and colorful, and they have completely different holidays! I'm also learning that the Senegalese people and American people have a lot in common. The kids play soccer with their friends after school and ride their bikes to the store to buy candy. They also love TikTok and making up dances. Just like me!

I’m 27 years old and I grew up in Washington state. I enjoy riding my bike, dancing, hiking, writing stories, eating good food, and making new friends. Because I love to learn about other people, I decided to study journalism at my university so that I could ask anyone and everyone, what they’re doing, all the time!

During my two years here, I'll lead after-school clubs for kids in my town and volunteer at my local hospital to help moms and babies have healthy lives. I'm also hoping to start a summer camp for kids in my region. I’m excited to share everything I’m learning with you and can’t wait to tell you all about my adventures!
