This week has seen some beautiful weather! It's finally spring!Since Geneva is at the western end of Lac Leman, or Lake Geneva, there are sometimes days that are very windy. The Genevans have different names for each of the winds, depending on what the season is and which direction the wind is blowing from.
I have been watching the birds, from tiny little sparrows on my windowsill to big gray herons flying over the lake.
From the rooftop terrace, I noticed a pair of crows nesting in a tree. The tree is one street over, and the nest is just about even with the height of terrace. The crows are taking turns flying away to get food and sitting on the nest. I hope I can see the babies when they hatch!
I'm looking for good bird identification websites or books. Since I can't go outside very much during the lockdown, I'm enjoying the feathered friends I have.
