To me, the weather has been perfect! I went swimming during the four sunny days this week, even though it’s mid-October! The sea is certainly chilly and refreshing. It’s warm enough to wear a t-shirt or light sweater in the middle of the day, and a light jacket in the evening. It only drizzled a bit on the one rainy day.
I saw cats, dogs, fish, a gecko and even a hummingbird! Let me explain. There are many stray cats in Dubrovnik so it’s common to see a few walking around during one's daily activities. I saw people walking their dogs as well. While swimming, I noticed a few fish go by under my feet! Geckos, or small lizards, are often spotted on the stone walls here in Croatia. They like to hide between the crevices. This week, I was lucky enough to spot a hummingbird in my grandmother’s garden! It was one of the few times I’ve seen one in-person and up-close. I was amazed by how fast it flew from flower to flower and hovered in place to collect the nectar.
