Currently, it’s a cool 81 degrees Fahrenheit, or 27 degrees Celsius. Heavy clouds are drifting slowly across the sky, threatening rain and shading us from the hot heat of the mid-afternoon sun. In America, we use the imperial system, which provides us with standard units with which to measure things such as length (inches, feet, yards) and temperature (degrees Fahrenheit). Malaysia and other countries use a different set of standard units known as the metric system. While the metric system addresses the same quantities such as time, length and temperature, the metric system uses different units to measure length (centimeters, meters, kilometers) and temperature (degrees Celsius). Slight differences in the values of the units result in different values to describe the same observation. Today’s weather can be described as 81 degrees Fahrenheit or 27 degrees Celsius.
The weather is unpredictable! Although the monsoon season began in early October, we have yet to have any severe rain or floods.
