It is the most mesmerizing sight I have ever seen, but they go away very quickly.
Lapland is the land of snowstorms! There is always mountains of snow in this Northern region of Finland because it is so cold. I absolutely loved walking to and from the school during the days because walking through the hills of snow is such a glistening sight. Because the town of Rovaniemi is located in the north, the sun rises and sets very quickly, so the daylight only lasts for about 3 hours daily. The Sami people take advantage of the sunlight when the sun is out, by using the small amount of time to enjoy the snow by being outdoors to ski, taking long walks and hunting. I also tried to spend the daylight being outside, even though it is freezing.
