The coolest thing that I saw was probably a bunch of cockatoos roaming free, living alongside people. It's not something you see back home, especially in California. Back home those birds can go for thousands of dollars at the pet store. But here in Australia, they're actually considered a pest because they damage people's houses. They like to gnaw on the wood trim around windows to sharpen their beaks.
Nothing much to report. I wish I had seen more marsupials, but they're pretty hard to come by during the day. A lot of them are nocturnal animals, and either I'm at the radio station at night or asleep.
