The weather was surprisingly clear this week, even though it often rains here in Puerto Varas. Because we are near the water (Puerto means "port" in Spanish), it is very windy all the time here, which makes it seem colder than it actually is!
There are lots of farms with cows and horses here, and many people have dogs, but I also saw a lot of wildlife while I was hiking this week. There were many birds, including hummingbirds and small hawks. I found a beautiful, brightly-colored lizard sunning itself on a rock in the National Park, and I spotted a fox by the road.
