The snow really makes the mountains stand out against the sky in a way they did not when I arrived in the summer. It sounds silly, but I walked out of my class the other day, looked out across the city, and suddenly realized "Oh, wow! There are mountains there!"
Even though it is growing colder, there are more plants blooming now in the city than when I arrived late in February. I think this may be because of the rain we've had recently. Even with the cold nights, there are many flowers in my neighborhood, and the whole city looks very green.
