It was warm and sunny when I started the week in Georgia. Then I spent a cooler day in London, England and then experienced more sun in Venice, Italy. After a cold and rainy day in Brussels, Belgium, I traveled back to familiar territory in Accra, Ghana, where it was very hot! Finally, I traveled down to Johannesburg, South Africa where's it's pretty and sunny during the day but chilly and windier at night.
It's been a great week for spotting animals! I've seen elephants, vervet monkeys, antelopes, gazelles, impalas, kudus, zebras, warthogs, guineafowl, giraffes, hippos, wildebeest, rhinos, snakes and many species of birds. They were all wild in South Africa, not in a zoo.
The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was also the scariest. Driving through a national park in northern South Africa, my friend and I ended up sitting on the side of a road in our rental car as a herd of elephants walked past.
