Though I didn't get to see it, that's still pretty cool that they have this toad living right in the heart of the city.
I learned today that the river that runs through the heart of Paris, called the Seine, is undergoing a major cleanup so that it will be clean enough to swim in by the year 2024. That would be just in time for the Olympics. Right now the water is so filthy that people aren’t allowed to swim in it for health reasons. Wouldn’t it be great to see this important river alive and full of life once more?
Also, in my short time in Paris I have already marveled at all of the parks, but my favorite so far for nature is the 400-year-old Jardin des plantes, the Paris Botanical Garden. There they have colorful flower beds and some very old trees collected from all over the world!
