Transportation and culture can often be linked depending on whether an area is urban or rural and the residents' lifestyles. For instance, people in large cities need a reliable and fast means of transport to get them to work on time, especially considering the distances they have to travel and crowds they have to deal with. In a less populated and developed town/village, people can make do with bikes and slower means of transport.
From an environmental standpoint, China's rapid industrialization has had adverse effects such as increased air and water pollution in every major metropolis. Increased pollution harms humans, plant and animal life, so the government is trying to invest more in "green" or environmentally friendly technologies.
