The Giant Panda is native only to China. It can be found in central and southwestern parts of the country, mainly the Sichuan Province, but also in Shaanxi and Gansu Provinces. Arguably one of the cutest animals in the world, the panda is a national treasure and an important part of Chinese history and diplomacy. In the past, China has given pandas to other countries as gifts to signify their good relations with them. Now, many pandas live in reservations and zoos where people can go see them, but they can also be found in the wild!
The Giant Panda is so adorable! It is white with black arms, legs, ears and circles around its eyes. They are chubby-looking with short bodies and little tails. Male pandas are typically larger than females. All pandas have sharp claws and teeth that can help them climb and eat. They have small eyes, which makes it hard for them to see very well. Their color, body shape and fluffiness makes them very endearing to most people who have seen them.
I have never seen a panda before going to the zoo, so I was excited when I first saw them. I felt happy because they looked pleased to have all the food and toys they might want. I also felt a little bad, because they might be happier roaming more freely in the wild.
