My host brother, Vukile, walks around listening to the same songs over and over again on his phone, because he only has about ten songs downloaded. The songs I hear the most are [Kapteni by Zakwe, Duncan, Kwesta], [Tholukuthi (Clap Song)(Feat. MaWhoo) by JAZZWORLD, GL_Ceejay, Thukuthela, MaWhoo], and Isaka (6 am) by CIZA, JAZZWORLD, Thukutela]. They are all absolute bangers.
This week, me and my other host brother, Blessing, found an old gas canister that was about 2 meters tall, and cylindrical. Blessing started running on it, exactly like someone in a cartoon would. He was rolling all over the homestead. I thought that would be fun so I joined in, and we ran on it together, at the same time.
I'm reading Dune right now, which feels like the longest book ever. I'm also reading a book called The Boy Who Was Raised as a Dog, which is an account of a child trauma specialist's most difficult and educational cases. It is a tough read, so Dune lightens things up.
Everyone plays soccer here. Tomorrow, there is a pick-up game near the high school that I won't be playing but I will be watching.
I just got word that they might pave our dirt road! That is wonderful news, because as said earlier, the road needs to be fixed in some capacity in order to be used as a road.
