I actually didn't travel at all this week! The farthest I travelled was about 2 km on my bicycle to school. I pass all the students walking, and I try to say hi to every single one of them. Next week I will go to town and grocery shop, which is a two hour drive oneway on the dirt road.
The Peace Corps places large restrictions on travel, especially for vacation. I am given two vacation days a month, which I can accumulate. If I want to leave the country, I have to submit a leave request and wait for approval. The farthest I've traveled since beginning service is to Ballito, which is a beach town in South Africa. Otherwise, I'm trying to save up those vacation days for a big vacation at the end of the year.
I get around by bicycle, by walking, or by kombi. I ride the bicycle to school, I walk short distances, like to a small market down the road, and I take the kombi into town, which is that two hour drive.
Considering I didn't travel out of my community this week, I'll pick a spot that's in my community. I took a walk yesterday evening to a field that's hidden behind some trees, where I have a good view of the water and some mountains nearby.
