This conversation is between my friend, Kira and I. My friend and I met Kira on a flight from Paris to Venice, as she sat next to us. She didn’t speak English fluently, but luckily enough, my friend can speak French much better than I can and was able to translate some of the questions to French so that Kira might understand them better. Like us, Kira was on vacation and wanted to visit Venice for the first time. She seemed excited and full of energy. She was kind enough to share some of her Parisian life with us.
My name is Kira Imani.
"I live in Paris." I asked her what her house was like and she smiled and said: "Big and aaa...." How many rooms, one room, two rooms? "Three rooms." Is it on the first floor, second floor? "Second floor." Are there a lot of houses next to yours, is it a compact neighborhood? She didn't understand the question, so my friend asked the same question in French, Votre quartier est-il un quartier compact? "No, it isn't compact, there is room to move around and even have a nice garden."
