At the cacao farm, I had moro (rice and beans), chicken, arepas (a type of cooked dough) and salad. It was served with mandarin juice.
I listened to bachata, merengue and dembow, which is a new genre of music in the Dominican Republic. I have also heard a lot of American music here, which is always interesting and a change.
The most fun activity was visiting the cacao farm, Hacienda Cufa. I took a tour of the farm, tasted a cacao fruit, got a chocolate face mask, and had delicious food.
I did not read this week but I am hoping to read, El Tiempo de las Mariposas by Julia Alvarez, next week.
I did not play any games or sports this week.
This past week was not super exciting especially because almost everyone in my group got sick with a cold or a stomach bug. But this week, I am going to Laguna Du Du and Gri Gri. I am looking forward to it, and I will let you know how it goes!
