One Swedish dish that surprised me is stuvade makaroner. Have you ever made spaghetti or macaroni before? Then you know pasta is usually boiled in water. However, for this dish, macaroni is boiled in milk, and then combined with black pepper, sausage, and a side of ketchup. It is often considered a comfort food and many of my Swedish classmates bring it for lunch.
That's all for this installment on food! I'm hungry now – maybe I'll go for a cinnamon roll :)
