For example, if you found out that a movie you watched about a tiger was not an actual tiger but actually an animated one that looked very, very realistic, would you be mad? Would you want to know whether or not the other animals in the movie were actual animals? What if the actors weren't actual humans? These are all difficult questions with many answers.
Research on AI policy is important because as AI becomes more common in schools, jobs and daily life, we need to make sure it helps everyone equally. This is why we need to create laws to make sure people do not use AI in a negative way.
Why Sweden?
I chose Sweden for my AI research because it is a unique country that leads the world in both technology and protecting people's rights. Some of Sweden's most famous companies have changed how we live, from Spotify to Volvo. But what makes Sweden truly special is how it thinks about privacy and fairness.
Many laws in Sweden emphasize something called "transparency," which means being clear and honest about how information is used. Sweden was one of the first countries to create strong rules about how companies should handle people's personal information online. In fact, every person in Sweden has the right to know what information every company has about them. This combination of innovative technology companies with strong privacy protection makes Sweden the perfect place to study how to make artificial intelligence fair and safe for everyone. It shows us that we can create amazing new technology while still making sure it respects people's rights and treats everyone equally.
